Art Teacher Workshop - ArtEdWA
I was very pleased to be invited to run a presentation/workshop for some fellow art teachers for the Art Education Association of Western Australia recently. I spoke about how I use artists as inspiration in my art room (both local and international artists as well as current and historical). Such a great opportunity to meet other inspiring teachers and get a chance to do some creating ourselves!!
I chose three of my favorite artists to focus on (Shaun Tan, Gustav Klimt and Stormie Mills). Some of the results are below!

Bird in a Birdcage
I have had a bit of a bird obsession over the last year or so, and this is the latest in a series of bird inspired projects!

4. We went over the pencil lines of our birdcage with our black wax crayon (although this photo doesn't show it!)

5, Finally we painted an ink background over our entire background except for the bird. I will be uploading some student examples in the next few days!
