Inspired By Stormie Mills

Stormie Mills is a well known artist in Perth, Western Australia, and a favourite of mine. See his style of work on his website We worked with charcoal to create a Stormie Mills inspired character. I love the results!!

  1. These are just amazing. I love charcoal and I do it so seldom in the classroom just because of the mess factor - you've inspired me to dive back in, soot and all!

    1. I must admit to avoiding charcoal too sometimes. It is very messy - but worth it :-)

  2. I was wondering what grade level you used the Stormie Mills charcoal lesson? The artwork is really fabulous! Would you be willing to share your lesson plan?

  3. Hi Sasha, this was Grade 5/6. I don't have a formal lesson plan for it. We just looked at Stormie's work, did some experimentation with charcoal and then they designed their own character.
